The Keysight B2900C/CL Series comprises compact Precision Source/Measure Units (SMUs) that enable precise source and simultaneous measurement of current and voltage in a single instrument. Designed for accurate current-voltage (IV) measurements, these instruments are suitable for both laboratory and production environments. Their high measurement resolution, integrated four-quadrant source/measure functionality, and graphical user interface with a 4.3-inch color display allow for efficient testing, debugging, and characterization tasks. The Keysight B2900C/CL Series also supports sweep functions and easy integration into automated test systems via SCPI commands.

Typical applications of the Keysight B2900C/CL Series include the electrical characterization of semiconductors, discrete devices, and electronic components. They are widely used for precise IV measurements in research, development, and production. Thanks to its wide voltage and current range, both very small currents and higher power ranges can be reliably measured. The integrated sweep functions enable structured test sequences, for example, for analyzing the behavior of electronic components under different current or voltage conditions. The Keysight B2901CL is a single-channel Precision Source/Measure Unit from the Keysight B2900C/CL series and belongs to the CL variant of the product family. Compared to the more powerful Keysight B2901C, the Keysight B2901CL is designed for cost-effective standard measurements and offers a reduced feature set. While the C models in the series support extensive arbitrary waveform and list sweep functions with up to 100,000 steps, the B2901CL is designed for simpler sweep functions with a significantly lower step count. The minimum timing resolution is also higher compared to the C models, making the device primarily designed for basic IV characterization and routine testing. Despite these differences, the Keysight B2901CL still offers precise current and voltage source and measurement in a compact instrument, providing an economical solution for many typical measurement tasks.
