The passive Keysight (formerly Agilent's electronic measurement technology) probe N2876A offers a bandwidth from 0 to 1.5 GHz and an attenuator of 100: 1 and is especially intended for use in measurement in fast digital circuits in order to be able to assess pulse edges. This probe requires a 50 Ω input impedance from the oscilloscope.
The small diameter of the probe tip of 2.5 mm, the small input capacity and the large number of accessories, especially for small pin spacings, make it ideal for measurements on ICs or surface-mount components (SMD). The sharp tip is designed with a spring so that it is held in the middle of an IC connector by a special insulated holder, which prevents a short circuit to neighboring IC pins. Special adapters for good ground contact are also available.
This probe is ideal for all Keysight InfiniiVision and Infiniium oscilloscopes (formerly Agilent's electronic measurement technology) with a 50 Ω input resistor. This probe can be used especially for testing on 50 Ω conductor systems and on signal sources with a low internal resistance of <50 Ω.
