The Cinergia GE&EL+ vAC/DC ePlus series is a state-of-the-art bidirectional and regenerative converter platform that combines the functions of a Grid Emulator (GE), an Electronic Load (EL) and a Bidirectional DC Converter (B2C) in a single device. It thus offers the most comprehensive solution for test applications in the fields of renewable energy, smart grids, electromobility, battery systems and power electronics. The modular ePLUS architecture enables parallel or series operation of multiple devices to increase performance, while state-of-the-art digital control algorithms (30 kHz control loop) ensure maximum precision and dynamics.

The series covers a wide range of test and development applications, including

  • Emulation and testing of grid systems (smart grids, anti-islanding, LVRT, IEC tests)

Model description: GE&EL+ 7.5 vAC/DC

The GE&EL+ 7.5 vAC/DC is the entry-level model in the series and combines all the functions of the larger variants in a compact 7.5 kW system. With a rated current of 11 A (AC) or ±10 A (DC), it offers an excellent ratio between power and flexibility. Compared to the higher models up to 200 kW, the 7.5 model is characterized by a lower weight (155 kg) and compact dimensions (770 × 450 × 1100 mm), making it ideal for laboratories, research facilities and mobile test benches. Despite its smaller design, it offers the same high accuracy (up to ±0.1 % FS for voltage regulation), short transient times of less than 1 ms and the full range of functions as the larger devices: programmable modes (CV, CC, CP, CR), bidirectional operation, regenerative energy recovery and multichannel functionality. This makes the GE&EL+ 7.5 vAC/DC an efficient, space-saving solution for demanding AC/DC test tasks in the lower power range.
