The Cinergia GE&EL+ vAC/DC ePlus series is a state-of-the-art bidirectional and regenerative converter platform that combines the functions of a Grid Emulator (GE), an Electronic Load (EL) and a Bidirectional DC Converter (B2C) in a single device. It thus offers the most comprehensive solution for test applications in the fields of renewable energy, smart grids, electromobility, battery systems and power electronics. The modular ePLUS architecture enables parallel or series operation of multiple devices to increase performance, while state-of-the-art digital control algorithms (30 kHz control loop) ensure maximum precision and dynamics.

The series covers a wide range of test and development applications, including

  • Emulation and testing of grid systems (smart grids, anti-islanding, LVRT, IEC tests)
  • Battery testing and emulation for electromobility and storage applications
  • PV panel emulation for solar inverter tests
  • Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHiL) simulations

Model description: GE&EL+ 30 vAC/DC

The GE&EL+ 30 vAC/DC is a versatile high-performance model in the ePlus series and, with a rated power of 27 kW, offers excellent power reserves for complex test and validation applications. With a rated current of 40 A (AC) and ±30 A (DC), this model is ideal for use in demanding laboratory environments where high precision, dynamics and efficiency are required. Like all devices in the series, the 30 kW model combines the functions of a grid emulator, a regenerative electronic load and a bidirectional DC converter in a single, compact system. The bidirectional topology enables energy to be fed in and absorbed, allowing test cycles with high dynamics and minimal energy consumption to be realized. Thanks to the 30 kHz control, the device responds to signal changes at lightning speed, while the multichannel function and the programmable modes (CV, CC, CP, CR) enable precise adaptation to individual test requirements. With compact dimensions of 770 × 450 × 1100 mm and a weight of 195 kg, the GE&EL+ 30 vAC/DC offers maximum power density in the smallest of spaces. It is the ideal solution for demanding research facilities, development laboratories and industrial test benches that require a combination of power, precision and efficiency.
