The Cinergia GE&EL+ vAC/DC ePlus series is a state-of-the-art bidirectional and regenerative converter platform that combines the functions of a Grid Emulator (GE), an Electronic Load (EL) and a Bidirectional DC Converter (B2C) in a single device. It thus offers the most comprehensive solution for test applications in the fields of renewable energy, smart grids, electromobility, battery systems and power electronics. The modular ePLUS architecture enables parallel or series operation of multiple devices to increase performance, while state-of-the-art digital control algorithms (30 kHz control loop) ensure maximum precision and dynamics.

The series covers a wide range of test and development applications, including

  • Emulation and testing of grid systems (smart grids, anti-islanding, LVRT, IEC tests)
  • Battery testing and emulation for electromobility and storage applications
  • PV panel emulation for solar inverter tests
  • Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHiL) simulations
  • Testing and characterization of power converters, power supplies and energy components
  • Academic and industrial test environments with demanding control tasks

Model description: GE&EL+ 15 vAC/DC

The GE&EL+ 15 vAC/DC is a powerful device in the series and is aimed at users who require higher currents and faster response times for demanding AC and DC test applications. With a rated power of 15 kW, a rated current of 22 A (AC) and ±20 A (DC), this model offers an extended power reserve with consistently high precision. Thanks to the 30 kHz control, dynamic processes are implemented with exceptional stability and accuracy - ideal for research laboratories, test benches for converters and applications in the field of power electronics. Like all devices in the GE&EL+ ePlus series, the 15 kW model also combines network and load-side operating modes in one system and enables use as an AC/DC source or sink. Its bidirectional regenerative technology ensures maximum energy efficiency, while the multichannel function and programmable modes (CV, CC, CP, CR) allow flexible test configurations. With a weight of 195 kg and a compact size of 770 × 450 × 1100 mm, the device remains portable and space-saving. It is therefore the perfect choice for development and validation tasks where high performance, precision and versatility are required in equal measure.
