The Cinergia GE&EL+ vAC/DC ePlus series is a state-of-the-art bidirectional and regenerative converter platform that combines the functions of a Grid Emulator (GE), an Electronic Load (EL) and a Bidirectional DC Converter (B2C) in a single device. It thus offers the most comprehensive solution for test applications in the fields of renewable energy, smart grids, electromobility, battery systems and power electronics. The modular ePLUS architecture enables parallel or series operation of multiple devices to increase performance, while state-of-the-art digital control algorithms (30 kHz control loop) ensure maximum precision and dynamics.

Model description: GE&EL+ 160 vAC/DC

The GE&EL+ 160 vAC/DC is a top-of-the-range high-performance device within the ePlus series and has been developed for the most demanding test applications where high currents, maximum control quality and maximum energy efficiency are required. With a rated power of 145 kW, a rated current of 211 A (AC) and ±155 A (DC), this model covers even large-scale testing tasks, such as high-voltage batteries, power electronics systems, grid simulations and industrial power converters. Like all devices in the GE&EL+ vAC/DC ePlus series, the 160 kW model combines the functions of a grid emulator, a regenerative electronic load and a bidirectional DC converter in one compact, modular unit. Thanks to the bidirectional regenerative technology, energy is efficiently exchanged between the device under test and the grid, significantly reducing overall energy consumption. With a THDi < 3 %, a power factor > 0.98 and transient times of less than 1 ms, the device achieves the highest control quality and precision. The 30 kHz control ensures excellent dynamics, while the programmable modes (CV, CC, CP, CR) and multichannel operation allow flexible adaptation to any test requirement. With its robust construction, industrial-grade cooling and dimensions of 850 × 900 × 2000 mm and a weight of 680 kg, the GE&EL+ 160 vAC/DC is designed for long-term resilience and precision - the ideal solution for research facilities, test laboratories and industrial test systems with the highest energy requirements.
