The Keysight N6783A-BAT is specially designed for designers who develop devices for mobile communication. It is a charge / discharge module that works in 2 quadrant mode and is specially designed for the needs in the development and production of batteries for the mobile communications sector.
This module can be used to test the battery that is intended for the design, as well as to supply the mobile device with power in the design phase. Mobile devices in particular are expected to have a long lifespan. The very differently long time intervals in which the handset lies in the charging cradle are still a problem for today's batteries.
Corresponding charge / discharge cycles can be simulated, since the module acts as a power supply on the one hand, and as an electronic load on the other. In both cases, both the voltage and the current curve can be recorded and documented very precisely in short-term and long-term studies. This process can determine whether e.g. B. the intended battery meets the specified specifications. The 14585A software supports these measurements.
The module can also be used to test the behavior of a mobile device for different charging states of a battery. In this way, real conditions can be simulated and reproduced.
With the N6783A-BAT module, the software-based power management of the DUT (device under test) can also be checked, by using a current measurement to find out whether the mobile device or circuit modules are not being switched on and off unintentionally.
