The ESD 3 seminar is part of the ESD specialist training courses.
Participation requirement:
Attendance of the basic seminar ESD 1 or corresponding previous knowledge and experience.
Target group:
People who are or are intended to be used in-house as ESD officers / coordinators or ESD helpers or who want to update or complete their knowledge. Advanced seminar for employees who want to qualify as a specialist through the advanced seminars. This includes specialists and managers from the areas of production, quality assurance, development, work preparation and purchasing, as well as manufacturers and suppliers of ESD protection components.
ESD 3: Seminar goals:
The participants get to know normative and practicable measuring techniques of electrostatics in the practically furnished seminar rooms. In pairs, all necessary measurement tasks for protective materials and EPA equipment are carried out in measurement exercises. Thanks to intensive support, measurement errors and problems are immediately recognized and corrected. With a final evaluation of the measurement results, the graduates prove the knowledge they have acquired, which is confirmed by the ESD measurement technology certificate.

Information and references between the various standards, physical principles and relationships between the physical measured variables
- Measuring devices for ESD applications
Resistance measuring devices, charge and discharge measuring devices, electric field meters measuring devices for room climate, test devices for personal equipment, calibration
- Surfaces and leakage resistance
Electrodes and measurement voltage according to IEC DIN EN 61340, among other things, structure and application of the various electrodes, measurement conditions, measurement errors and measurement protocol
- Measurement of electrostatic charge and discharge
Possibilities with electric field meter, charged plate monitor and the discharge measuring device KEINATH SEM 3000
- Interpretation of measured values
Consideration of the influencing factors standard limit values, implementation in practice
- Measurement internship
Application of the measurement method in exercises Checking an ESD workstation
- Success control and evaluation interview
Test:
Review of the measurement results from the measurement exercises. Afterwards there is the possibility to carry out measurements and qualifications on the materials brought along.
