The ESD 2 seminar is part of the ESD specialist training courses.
Participation requirement:
Attendance of the basic seminar ESD 1 or corresponding previous knowledge and experience.
Target group:
People who are designated as ESD officers within the company or who have already been nominated ESD officers who want to update or complete their knowledge. Advanced seminar for employees who want to qualify as specialists through the advanced seminars or who have to deal intensively with ESD protective measures. This includes specialists and managers from the areas of production, quality assurance, development, work preparation and purchasing, as well as manufacturers and suppliers of ESD protection components.
ESD 2: Seminar goals:
The participants receive in-depth knowledge of the tasks, competencies and responsibilities in the ESD protection zone (EPA). You will receive information on the selection of protective materials (specifications) and will be instructed in the planning, organization and implementation of audits and training courses. Through in-depth physical background knowledge, they are made aware of the localization of possible ESD sources of damage. The necessary knowledge of measurement and testing technology is deepened. With a final success check, the graduates prove their acquired knowledge, which is confirmed by the certificate ESD responsibility in the EPA.

- The ESD officer according to IEC DIN EN 61340-5-1 and others
Hierarchical integration, areas of responsibility, definition of the requirements for protective measures (functional specification), implementation of the standard requirement, work instructions, training measures, implementation of reviews and audits
- Physics of ESD damage generation
Discharge models, defect images, analysis
- Solutions for the EPA
Problem with the floor / shoes system as the main grounding measure. Application and verification of ionizers in the manufacturing process. Review and evaluation of ESD-compliant systems and machines. Are protective functions necessary for work clothes and seating? What is to be considered?
- The ESD protection officer
Overview of responsibilities, tasks (training, audit), demonstration of electrostatic measuring methods and measuring devices
- Exemplary creation of an acceptance report and type approval (practical exercise)
e.g. for clothing and production facilities
- Success control and evaluation interview
Test:
Final examination by means of a multiple-choice test followed by an evaluation interview.
