Your testing or measuring device has worked reliably for many years. It has been used in large projects, in safety testing, in research and development, and in precise troubleshooting. It has always stood for accuracy, reliability, and quality. But even the best measuring devices eventually reach the end of their life cycle. When that time comes, we ensure that your old device is taken back and recycled in a responsible, legally compliant, and sustainable manner. Disposal is simple, free of charge, and environmentally friendly.
Waste electrical and electronic equipment contains valuable raw materials that can be recovered and recycled through proper treatment. At the same time, waste electrical and electronic equipment may contain substances that are hazardous to the environment and human health. Separate collection and proper treatment are therefore particularly important.
Since 2019, the total weight of waste electrical and electronic equipment collected annually in Germany is required to amount to at least 65% of the average weight of electrical and electronic equipment placed on the market during the three preceding calendar years. In the 2023 reporting year, the collection rate achieved in Germany was 29.5%, significantly below this target.
Preliminary data for 2024 are already available for the treatment of waste electrical and electronic equipment: According to the German Federal Statistical Office, around 919,700 tonnes of waste electrical and electronic equipment were accepted for initial treatment. Of this amount, around 758,000 tonnes were recycled and a further 17,600 tonnes were prepared for reuse. The resulting recycling rate was 84.3%.
Reliable take-back helps ensure that waste electrical and electronic equipment is properly treated and valuable resources are recovered. At dataTec, returning such equipment is quick and straightforward.
