ESD1_RT | ESD basic seminar Electro Static Discharge (2 days) near Reutlingen / Tübingen

The ESD 1 basic seminar forms the basis for all further ESD seminars and is part of the ESD specialist training courses.

Participation requirement:

Basic knowledge of electricity is an advantage.

Target group:

Basic seminar for employees who want to qualify as specialists through the advanced seminars or who want to deal intensively with ESD protection. This includes specialists and managers from the areas of production, quality assurance, development, work preparation and purchasing, as well as manufacturers and suppliers of ESD protection components.

ESD1: Seminar goals:

The participants receive a sound basic knowledge of the physics of electrostatics and their damage mechanisms in electronic components. You will be familiarized with the necessary protective measures, the equipment and establishment of an ESD protection zone (EPA) in accordance with the IEC DIN EN 61340-5-1 standard, among others. You will receive an overview of the tasks of an ESD officer, as well as the measuring methods and measuring devices for electrostatics. With a final success check, the graduates prove their acquired knowledge, which is confirmed by the certificate Electro Static Discharge.

  • Physics of electrostatics

    Formation of the charge, discharge processes (ESD), error mechanisms, ESD models, physical principles

  • ESD protection zone according to IEC DIN EN 61340-5-1 (EPA) part 1

    ESD protection strategy, standard basis, protective measures, personal equipment, wrist strap, ESD footwear, dissipative work clothing, protective measures, room equipment, workplaces, storage cabinets, shelves, parts shelves, conductive floor coverings, principles, standards

  • ESD protection zone according to IEC DIN EN 61340-5-1 (EPA) - Part 2

    Protective measures, room furnishings, seating, means of transport, parts containers, magazines, packaging, tools, work equipment, working documents, machines and production lines, ionization

  • Measuring and testing devices for the ESD officer

    Selection, use, application of measuring devices

  • Success control and evaluation interview

Test:

Final examination by means of a multiple-choice test followed by an evaluation interview

Certificate:

Certificate of participation “Electro Static Discharge”
