AC sources are an essential element in the test setup of PV inverters (PV / Photovoltaic). The PV inverters are typically connected in parallel to the supply network. With the programmable outputs, the AC sources enable the behavior of the supply network to be simulated. If the output power of the PV inverter is higher than the energy consumption of all connected loads, the AC power source cannot absorb the excess energy, instead the A615106 absorbs it. The AC source simulates the supply network to which the inverter connects. If more energy is available from the inverter than can be absorbed by the connected loads, the reverse current protection A615106 prevents energy from being released into the AC power source.
The reverse current protection is designed for the Chroma alternating current sources 61511, 61512, 61611, 61612 and A615103.
