784663-01 | USB-8506, NI-XNET LIN 1-Port Interface Device

The USB‑8506 module is a LIN (Local Interconnect Network) interface card for application development with the NI‑XNET driver. The USB‑8506 module is USB powered and requires no external power supply. The USB‑8506 is particularly suitable for applications where several hundred LIN frames and signals need to be captured or manipulated at high speeds, e.g. B. In-vehicle data logging, bus monitoring, automation control. With the NI‑XNET DMA engine, the onboard processor can exchange LIN frames and signals between interfaces and user programs without causing CPU interrupts. This reduces message latency and frees processor time. The USB‑8506 provides a 3‑pin COMBICON connector for triggering and synchronizing the hardware’s internal time base with other devices.
