The advantage of this AFG3000 arbitrary function generator series is a variable output voltage from 1mVpp to 10 Vpp on a 50 Ω load. The frequency range is adjustable from 1 µHz to 20 MHz or 30 MHz depending on the model with a resolution of 1 µHz. A total of 65 integrated, callable functions are helpful, which can also be edited by the user for an arbitrary application. These standard functions include sine, square, pulse, triangle, ramp, DC voltage harmonic and noise. Furthermore, the waveform duration, the rise and fall times can be set individually and flexibly. Pulse sequences with a duty cycle of 0.017% to 99.983% are possible as triggers.
The generator series supports AM / FM / PM / FSK / PWM, frequency sweep, amplitude sweep and burst to cover all industrial applications. The generator also offers simulation up to the 8th harmonic in order to simulate a switching power supply for a DUT. It can also be used to characterize and test EMI performance filters.
The AFG3000 series includes free software that allows you to edit the arbitrary function to create the desired waveform from the integrated wave trains.
