The 8550 series from B&K Precision offers powerful DC electronic loads with a maximum power consumption of 350 W. These devices combine high functionality with a compact form factor and are ideal for testing and evaluating power supplies, DC-DC converters, batteries, chargers and photovoltaic systems.
The series supports various operating modes, including constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV), constant resistance (CR) and constant power (CW). In addition, advanced test modes such as list mode, transient mode and automatic test mode are available, enabling dynamic load conditions for a variety of DC sources. A special battery discharge measurement simplifies tests on batteries with configurable stop conditions.
Thanks to an RS232 and handler interface, the devices can be integrated into automated test environments. In addition, measurement results and other parameters can be saved directly to a USB flash drive. The supplied PC software enables simple remote control and monitoring.
The series comprises two models: 8550 and 8551. The 8551 model presented here is the more powerful version of the 8550 series with a maximum output of 350 W. It offers a maximum voltage of 150 V and a maximum current of 60 A. This makes it particularly suitable for applications where higher currents and greater load requirements are needed.
The 8550 variant offers a power consumption of 175 W and a maximum current of 30 A.
