The Cinergia EL+ vAC ePlus series is an advanced range of regenerative, programmable electronic AC loads designed to accurately simulate the electrical behavior of grid loads and generators. Its bi-directional, regenerative hardware architecture allows energy to be fed back into the grid during test operation. This reduces both energy consumption and heat generation and ensures a particularly efficient and sustainable test environment. With 13 models ranging from 7.5 kW to 160 kW, the series covers a wide power range and can be easily integrated into automated test benches via Modbus/TCP or Ethernet.

The EL+ vAC ePlus series is versatile and has been designed for demanding test and development environments where flexible and precise AC loads are required. Typical fields of application are:

  • Testing and simulation of AC sources, inverters and UPS systems

  • Simulation of grid disturbances, voltage dips and transient load conditions

Model description: EL+ 50 vAC

The EL+ 50 vAC is a robust and powerful model in the series and offers a rated power of 50 kW and a rated current of 73 A per phase (or 219 A three-channel), it is ideal for extensive testing and development tasks. Like all models in the series, the EL+ 50 vAC is also based on a 4-quadrant IGBT topology, which enables both energy consumption and feedback into the grid. With a power factor above 0.98, a distortion factor (THDi) below 3% and an efficiency of up to 92%, it meets the highest requirements for energy efficiency and control precision. It is operated locally via a 4.3″ touch display with integrated data acquisition and signal visualization or remotely via Ethernet (Modbus TCP). Extensive analog and digital I/O interfaces enable integration into external control systems or automated test sequences. With compact dimensions of approx. 770 × 450 × 1100 mm and a weight of around 200 kg, the system is space-saving, easy to maintain and designed for continuous operation in the laboratory. The master/slave function allows several units to be connected in parallel to increase the output power.
