The Cinergia EL+ vAC ePlus series is an advanced range of regenerative, programmable electronic AC loads that accurately simulate the behavior of electrical loads and generators. Thanks to its bi-directional, regenerative architecture, energy consumed during test operation can be efficiently fed back into the grid. This not only reduces energy consumption, but also the thermal load and operating costs. With 13 models ranging from 7.5 kW to 160 kW, the series offers a scalable solution for laboratory, development and industrial applications. It is fully remote controllable via Modbus/TCP and Ethernet and can be easily integrated into test environments.
The EL+ vAC ePlus series is designed for a wide range of test and development tasks where a flexible, precise and efficient AC load is required. Typical fields of application are:
The EL+ 40 vAC is a powerful model in the mid-range segment of the series and ideal for applications that require high precision and dynamics with moderate power requirements. With a rated power of 40 kW and a rated current of 58 A per phase (or 174 A three-channel), it offers an excellent balance of energy efficiency, control precision and robustness. Like all models in the series, it uses a 4-quadrant IGBT topology, which allows both energy consumption and feedback to the grid. The device operates with a power factor above 0.98, a THDi below 3% and an efficiency of ≥ 92%. This makes it particularly suitable for grid simulations, inverter tests and applications with non-linear load profiles. It can be operated locally via an intuitive 4.3″ touch display or remotely via Ethernet (Modbus TCP). Numerous analog and digital I/O interfaces enable integration into hardware-in-the-loop environments and test automation. With dimensions of around 770 × 450 × 1100 mm and a weight of around 200 kg, the device remains compact and optimized for continuous operation. Thanks to master/slave operation, several units can be connected in parallel to increase the overall performance.
