The Cinergia EL+ vAC ePlus series stands for state-of-the-art technology in the field of regenerative, programmable AC loads. It enables the realistic simulation of the electrical behavior of active and passive grid participants with maximum energy efficiency. Thanks to its bidirectional, reverse-supply architecture, energy that is absorbed during the tests can be fed back into the grid – this lowers operating costs and reduces the environmental impact. With a total of 13 models between 7.5 kW and 160 kW, the series offers a scalable solution for almost any power level. It can be seamlessly integrated into complex test environments via Modbus/TCP or Ethernet.

The EL+ vAC ePlus series has been specially designed for demanding test and development environments in industry and research. Typical areas of application are:

Model description: EL+ 160 vAC

The EL+ 160 vAC is the second most powerful model in the series and was developed for the highest performance requirements in industrial test environments. With a rated power of 145 kW and a rated current of 211 A (three-phase), it offers enormous power reserves for large-format test objects and complex test sequences. The system works on the basis of a 4-quadrant IGBT topology and enables both the absorption and supply of energy - ideal for emulating grid loads, generators or energy storage systems. With an efficiency of = 92 %, a distortion factor (THDi) of less than 3 % and a power factor of over 0.98, it meets the highest standards of efficiency and power quality. Like all devices in the series, the EL+ 160 vAC has a 4.3" touchscreen for local operation, data acquisition and visualization. The Ethernet/Modbus TCP interface allows the device to be controlled remotely and integrated into automated test systems. Thanks to master/slave operation, several devices can be connected in parallel to increase the overall performance even further. Despite the high performance, the design remains robust and practical: the device measures around 850 × 900 × 2000 mm, weighs around 680 kg and achieves a noise level of less than 70 dB(A) with forced air cooling.
