Description
EL+20 VAC EPLUS | Regenerative electronic AC load, 20 kW, platform: ePLUS; transformer: without
The Cinergia EL+ vAC ePlus series is a powerful range of regenerative, programmable AC loads that accurately simulates the behavior of electrical loads and feeders. Its bidirectional, regenerative hardware enables significant energy savings in test operation, as energy consumed is efficiently fed back into the grid. With 13 available models from 7.5 kW to 160 kW, the series covers a wide range of applications - from research and development to industrial test fields. Thanks to open communication interfaces such as Modbus/TCP and Ethernet, simple integration into automated test systems is guaranteed.
The EL+ vAC ePlus series is versatile and specially designed for the development, testing and quality assurance of power supply and energy conversion systems. Typical fields of application are:
Testing and validation of inverters, AC sources and UPS systems
Simulation of grid loads, grid faults and transient states
Testing of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles
Research in the field of smart grids, energy distribution and grid simulation
Teaching and development environments with a focus on power electronics
Model description: EL+ 20 vAC
The EL+ 20 vAC model is a compact yet powerful solution within the series and has been designed for demanding laboratory and test applications. With a rated power of 20 kW and a rated current of 29 A per phase (or 87 A three-channel), it offers an excellent balance of performance, precision and energy efficiency. Like all models in the series, it is based on a 4-quadrant IGBT topology that enables both energy consumption and supply. This makes the EL+ 20 vAC ideal for simulating mains consumers and generators. With a power factor of over 0.98, a total harmonic distortion (THDi) of less than 3 % and an efficiency of 91 %, it meets the highest requirements in terms of quality and stability. It is operated intuitively via an integrated 4.3" touch display or remotely via Ethernet (Modbus TCP). Analog and digital I/O interfaces allow connection to external controllers or power hardware-in-the-loop systems. With dimensions of approx. 770 × 450 × 1100 mm and a weight of around 200 kg, the device is compact and optimized for continuous operation in the laboratory. The optional master/slave function allows several units to be connected in parallel to increase performance.
