The Cinergia EL+ vAC ePlus series represents the latest generation of regenerative, programmable electronic AC loads. These systems are designed to precisely emulate the behavior of active and passive electrical devices while efficiently feeding energy back into the grid. Their bidirectional, reverse-supply-capable hardware significantly reduces the energy requirement in test mode. The series comprises 13 models from 7.5 kW to 160 kW, which are scalable through parallel connection. Thanks to open communication interfaces such as Modbus/TCP and Ethernet, the series can be easily integrated into existing test systems and laboratory environments.

The EL+ vAC ePlus series is versatile and ideally suited for research, development and quality assurance in the field of electrical energy and drive technology. Typical fields of application include:

Model description: EL+ 120 vAC

The EL+ 120 vAC model is one of the more powerful variants in the series and has been developed for demanding industrial and academic applications. With a rated power of 108 kW and a rated current of 157 A (three-phase), it offers the perfect balance between high power, precise control and compact design. Like all models in the series, the EL+ 120 vAC is based on a 4-quadrant topology with IGBT technology, which allows energy to be fed in as well as absorbed. This allows real grid conditions as well as generators and consumers to be simulated equally. With an efficiency of over 92%, a total harmonic distortion (THDi) of less than 3% and a power factor of over 0.98, it meets the highest standards of power quality and stability. The system has an intuitive 4.3" touchscreen for local operation as well as extensive digital and analog I/O interfaces. An open Ethernet/Modbus TCP interface is available for automated test sequences. Thanks to the master/slave function, up to eight units can be operated in parallel to further increase the output power. Despite the high output, the device remains surprisingly compact and quiet (65 dB(A) at 1 m distance) with dimensions of approx. 870 × 875 × 1320 mm and a weight of approx. 400 kg.
