The dataTec Innovation Day, held on September 25 in Stuttgart by the specialist distributor, brought together 216 participants who experienced the latest innovations in test and measurement technology. The event’s name spoke for itself: the selected partner companies presented cutting-edge solutions that set new standards.
The newest product, the Tektronix Series 7 DPO oscilloscopes, had just been unveiled to the public shortly before the event. Equipped with proprietary ASICs, the instrument delivers the industry’s lowest noise level, highest ENOB value, and up to ten times faster data output. Also introduced this year, TDK expanded the TDK-Lambda Genesys AC and Genesys AC Pro series with programmable AC sources rated at 6 kVA and 9 kVA. These units complement the previously launched 2 kVA and 3 kVA models, broadening the testing and measurement capabilities of the Genesys series of programmable DC power supplies, which range from 750 W to 90 kW. Earlier this year, Omicron Lab introduced its most powerful analyzer to date, the Bode 500. Its wide frequency range enables precise measurements from 10 mHz to 450 MHz. Other powerful products highlights included:
The program inspired engineers, technicians, developers, users, and decision-makers from different industries to exchange expertise and explore the future of measurement and testing technology. “We can no longer rely solely on old strengths. International competition demands that we boldly integrate new technologies such as artificial intelligence. Young engineers should work openly, collaboratively, and with enthusiasm — because our country holds enormous potential for the future,” said Matteo Bax, Country Sales Manager at NI (now part of Emerson). Keysight also addressed the challenges facing tomorrow’s measurement and testing technology. “Products are becoming increasingly complex, technologies evolve at unprecedented speed, and time-to-market windows keep shrinking,” emphasized Patrick Geisler, Corporate Account Manager at Keysight Technologies Germany. “That is precisely why we see ourselves as enablers, strengthening our partners with the right tools to accelerate development and leap into the future together.”
The dataTec Innovation Day agenda featured live demonstrations, expert talks, and workshops on four key areas: EMPT (Electronic Measurement and Testing Technology), Power (AC/DC power supplies & data loggers), High-End Measurement Technology, and Modular Measurement Technology. Ample networking opportunities rounded off the event.
Markus Kohler, Chief Sales Officer of dataTec, emphasized the responsibility of distribution partners in the field of measurement and testing technology. “We are observing three major developments: the increasing automation of measurement and testing tasks, the growing use of artificial intelligence in evaluation, and a clear trend toward more efficient and sustainable solutions. As a specialized distributor with 40 years of experience, our mission is to provide engineers and technicians with the right tools, and to offer practical support through consulting, application expertise, and dedicated service.”
