The thermal imaging cameras in the FLIR A400/A500/A700 Science Kits deliver highly accurate thermal data. With infrared resolutions of 320 × 240 (A400), 464 × 348 (A500), or 640 × 480 (A700), they are ideal for component inspection, product development, and fault analysis, as well as a wide range of research applications — including product quality control and the monitoring of critical infrastructure.

These automation-ready cameras can be configured for complex remote monitoring, alarm, and analytical tasks and integrated into HMI/SCADA systems. Regardless of the application, the seamless interaction of all system components ensures reliable performance across diverse use cases.

Motorized focus control and comprehensive connectivity provide exceptional operational convenience. The standard 24° lens offers a wide field of view advantageous for R&D environments. The integrated macro mode reduces the minimum focus distance to achieve improved spatial resolution — 101 µm per pixel with the A400, 71 µm per pixel with the A500, and 50 µm per pixel with the A700. With the additional 2× macro lens included in the Professional Kit, a spatial resolution of up to 24 µm can be achieved.

Regardless of whether you choose the Standard or Professional Science Kit, each includes a one-year license for the comprehensive FLIR Research Studio Standard Edition software. The software provides advanced recording and analysis capabilities for a wide range of R&D applications, featuring an intuitive user interface.

FLIR Research Studio enables an optimized workflow for simultaneous viewing, recording, and analysis of data from multiple FLIR cameras. It supports multiple languages and operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) to facilitate collaboration and minimize miscommunication due to translation errors.

The Professional Edition includes an extended set of analytical tools and functions that streamline acquisition, analysis, and export processes. With a Research Studio Professional license, users can easily share data via the free Research Studio Player app.
