The seminar “Architecting Test Systems Using TestStand” covers the creation and editing of process models to modify test execution with TestStand. The course builds on the “Developing Test Programs Using TestStand” course. During the course, you will work through a series of system design scenarios and learn when and how to identify and modify various components of the TestStand environment to meet your specific test system requirements. Upon completion of this course, you will know how to execute test runs across multiple sequences and programmatically control TestStand using the TestStand API. You’ll also learn how to support test developers, customize test reports, create user interfaces, review code for test programs, and manage the deployment of your test environment.

  • Creating custom step types to support test developers
  • Using the TestStand API programmatically to control TestStand

Target Audience:

  • TestStand users who are tasked with customizing various components of the TestStand environment.
  • TestStand users who wish to take the “Certified TestStand Architect” exam

Course Prerequisites:

  • The “Developing Test Programs Using TestStand” course or comparable experience
  • Ability to design and develop test sequences in TestStand that include sub-sequences and calls to external code modules
  • Ability to explain the purpose of a process model and to execute a test sequence using an Execution Entry Point.
  • Experience with LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, or the C programming language
  • Recommended courses (depending on your development environment): “LabVIEW Fundamentals 1” or “LabWindows/CVI Fundamentals 1”
