The PXIe ‑ 7820 is an RIO (reconfigurable I / O) module that has a user-programmable FPGA for integrated processing and flexible I / O handling. Using LabVIEW FPGA, the digital channels can be configured individually as inputs, outputs, counters / timers, flexible encoder inputs, with PWM or special communication protocols. Users can also program custom board-level decision logic that executes with hardware-timed speed and reliability. Each channel offers software selectable logic levels. The PXIe ‑ 7820 supports peer ‑ to ‑ peer streaming for direct data transfer between PXI ‑ Express modules. The PXIe ‑ 7820 module is suitable for a wide variety of applications including high speed waveform generation, sensor simulation, hardware ‑ in ‑ the ‑ loop testing, custom digital protocols, bit error rate determination, and other applications that require precise timing and control require.
