The company's roots date back to 1977, when Kurth Electronic was founded in Eningen unter Achalm (Baden-Württemberg). Since 2016, Kurth Electronic has been part of the GMC-Instruments Group and, as of July 1, 2023, was fully integrated into Gossen Metrawatt GmbH - the "Kurth Electronic" brand continues to be maintained.
