The differential probe is designed for fast signals, such as those found in high-voltage systems, such as. B. in switching power supplies, DC-DC converters or class D amplifiers. It has been developed for general applications and has an AutoProbe interface to the oscilloscope. Another area of application is the bus systems used in automobiles or in fast digital systems. This probe enables safe floating signal measurement with the Keysight oscilloscopes, which are conventionally connected to ground. Due to the excellent common-mode rejection of the probes over the entire frequency range, very small differential signals can be measured, even though very large common mode signals are present, as they are e.g. B. occur in switching power supplies.
The N2805A probe with a bandwidth of 200 MHz offers a 50: 1 input divider for use in high-voltage applications. This probe offers a differential input resistance of 4 MΩ and a low input capacitance of only 4 pF to minimize the load on the signal source. The probe has measuring lines of 5 m in length and is supplied with various probe tips and clamps.
