The GW Instek GSG-2060 is part of the GSG-2000 RF signal generator series, which offers frequency coverage from 9 kHz to 6 GHz. It is specifically designed for applications in communications, automotive, IoT development and for testing RF components such as amplifiers, antennas and filters.

With its precise analog signal options, the GSG-2060 is an ideal choice for basic testing and development. However, if you want to test digital applications with advanced requirements, the GSG-2160 is the right choice. Both models combine high quality with ease of use and offer excellent performance for different applications.

  • Frequency resolution: 1 mHz
  • Amplitude: -140 dBm to +20 dBm with a resolution of 0.01 dBm
  • Phase noise: Typically -117 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz and 20 kHz offset
  • Frequency stability: Includes OXCO oscillator (10 ppb) // Alternatively available without, then 10 ppm as standard

Product Comparison: GSG-2060 and GSG-2160

The GSG-2160 extends the features of the GSG-2060 with advanced digital modulation capabilities:

  • Digital modulation (GSG-2160 only): Supports advanced digital modulation types such as ASK, PSK, APSK, QAM, FSK, MSK as well as user-defined IQ and FSK signals. The GSG-2060, on the other hand, focuses on analog modulations.
  • Maximum bandwidth:
    • GSG-2060: Supports basic modulations for baseband applications.
    • GSG-2160: Up to 60 MHz baseband IQ output and 120 MHz RF IQ modulation.
  • Application areas: The GSG-2060 is mainly suitable for standard applications such as RF component testing, while the GSG-2160 is ideal for digital communication systems.
