The 5 ½-digit GDM-8255A digital multimeter from GW Instek hides some measuring functions that are not available with classic multimeters.

The GDM8255A offers a number of standard measurements that can be shown simultaneously on the dual display. Another measurement value can be shown and observed with the second display. If display 1 shows either ACV or DCV or ACI or DCI or resistance (2-wire measurement) or frequency or period of a measurement, the values of ACV or DCV or ACI or DCI can be shown in the second display or frequency or period of another measured value are displayed simultaneously.

Additional measurement functions such as dB / dBm, max / min, comparisons, relative measurements, four-wire resistance measurements, frequency and period as well as temperature measurements are part of the measurement scope as well as mathematical calculations with the measured values are possible.

The accuracy of this device for direct voltage measurements is 0.021% with short measuring times.

Via the interfaces USB, RS232 and a 9-pin I / O interface, the device for ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) purposes can be controlled via the PC or the measured values can be transferred from it. The optionally available scanner card GDM SC1 extends the maximum measurable number of channels to 16 values (for two-wire measurements) or 8 values (for four-wire measurements), which can be measured with a GDM-8255A. The scanner card is inserted directly into the measuring device.
