The Fluke Networks CertiFiber Max series is an Optical Loss Test Set (OLTS) for the rapid acceptance and documentation of modern multi-fiber links. It measures attenuation (loss), length and polarity for multi-fiber links with up to 24 fibers in a very short time and is designed for high measurement reliability in practice. As part of the modular Versiv / LinkWare ecosystem, the series can be seamlessly integrated into project workflows: Project specifications are neatly managed via ProjX, results are saved in a structured manner and used via LinkWare PC and optionally LinkWare Live for reporting, remote setup and project transparency. Maximum flexibility is ensured by field-changeable UniPort adapters, which enable direct connections to MPO and MMC (pinned and unpinned) - without cumbersome breakout solutions.

The series is ideal for the certification and commissioning of multi-fiber backbones and high-density cabling - especially in data centers, campus and building cabling and for migrations to higher bandwidths. Typical applications include acceptance measurements in accordance with defined limit values (PASS/FAIL), rapid fault localization in the event of conspicuous links and documentation-proof handover to clients. For troubleshooting, the series also supports integrated multi-fibre VFL (fault localization) and a duplex powermeter port (e.g. for measurements on cassettes or duplex fibres). As an option, end face inspection can also be integrated into the test report in order to quickly detect and verify contamination as a frequent cause of faults.

The CFM-100S presented here is the single-mode OLTS test set from the CertiFiber Max series with two Versiv mainframes (main & remote) and is aimed at teams that want to efficiently certify single-mode multi-fiber links. In comparison, CFM-100S/GLD adds Gold Support to the set, while CFM-100S-NW and CFM-100S-NW/GLD are variants without Wi-Fi (e.g. for environments with radio deactivation policies). If you need inspection directly in the set, choose the CFM-100SI family (with inspection cameras), also optionally as a GLD or NW variant. Suitable expansion kits (e.g. MPO12/16/24 or MMC16/24) and corresponding test reference cable kits are available for expansions to other connector faces/fiber counts.

Product features of the series:

  • Measurement functions: Attenuation (loss), length and polarity - multi-fiber certification with clear PASS/FAIL results and detailed view per fiber.
  • Multi-Fiber-Speed: Tests and saves results for links with up to 24 fibers in a very short time.
  • Direct connectivity via UniPort adapter: Field-replaceable, port-protecting adapters for MPO and MMC, pinned and unpinned; support for 8/12/16/24 fibers (expansion path for 32 fibers).
  • High measurement reliability: Standards-preferred 1-jumper reference with guided reference wizard; reference values are stored for reporting.
  • Timer & Counter (optional): Monitors time since reference set and number of tests per test reference cable for process compliance.
  • Single-mode wavelengths: Calibrated for 1310 nm and 1550 nm.
  • Length measurement: Range up to 25 km; uncertainty ±1 m + 1% of length.
  • Loss measurement budget: Up to 10 dB (singlemode).
  • Integrated troubleshooting: Multi-fiber VFL at the source port (635 nm, laser class II) and duplex powermeter port (LC duplex standard, SC duplex optional).
  • Duplex power meter performance range: +5 dBm to -45 dBm (singlemode, depending on setup/port).
  • Rugged operating conditions (with Versiv mainframe): Operation -10°C to +45°C, storage -10°C to +60°C, drop test from 1 m, high humidity ranges (non-condensing).
  • Project & reporting workflow: ProjX project management, LinkWare PC for reports/statistics, optional LinkWare Live for uploads, remote setup and status overview.
