The 11050-30M HF-LCR meter from the 11050 series from Chroma is a precision testing device that was developed for accurate measurements and evaluations of passive components during high-speed measurements. A fast measuring speed of 7 ms effectively increases productivity in an automated environment. The measurement capability includes the primary and secondary parameters required for testing inductance, capacitance, resistance, quality factor and loss factor of passive components. The HF-LCR meter has a wide test frequency range between 75 kHz to 30 MHz (11050-30M), 1 kHz to 10 MHz (11050) and 60 Hz to 5 MHz (11050-5M), which is useful for the analysis of the component characteristics different frequencies. Its basic measuring accuracy of 0.1% ensures stable and extremely reliable results.

In addition to the excellent measurement functions, the 11050 series has other useful functions. It has 3 output impedance modes to meet the requirements when measuring and working with other devices. The versatile digital display can be configured for optimal power test resolution; Furthermore, the monitoring function for the test signal shows the voltage and the current with which the DUT is actually supplied. The timing settings of the trigger delay, measurement delay and average number allow the seamless transfer of measurements to an automated test environment, which ensures accurate results within a limited test time.

The design of the division of the measurement process handling adopted from the Chroma 11050 series offers several advantages. Since separate CPUs are used for test processing and display, the test speed increases. Shorter test leads improve the accuracy of high frequency measurements. The Chroma 11050 HF-LCR meter has several options for an external interface. Handler and RS-232C remote interfaces are the standard for software or hardware-controlled test conditions, measurement triggering, assessment of test results and compilation of measurement data. The standard USB connection saves device settings and controls the output of the power source of an external DC bias. Optional GPIB and Ethernet remote interfaces are also available.

As modern, portable electronic communication devices with flat form factors and for low energy consumption have been developed, the required frequency testing of current coils increases. The resistance of components in a device series thus becomes a critical indicator by which a good or bad decision can be made. Buffer capacitors play an important role in the operational safety of all device circuits and must function correctly under different voltage transient conditions; the resistance of the buffer capacitor series must remain at a very low level during operation with high frequencies.

The focus of the Chroma 11050 series is on the testing of passive components in the high-frequency range with an extended set of test parameters in research and development. The tests should be carried out as close as possible to the realistic operating conditions of the components. The increased measurement accuracy of low impedances demonstrates the usefulness of the Chroma 11050 series.
