The SBA 9112 is a linearly polarized microwave biconical broadband antenna that was developed to cover the worldwide lack of broadband, omnidirectional antennas above 3 GHz. In combination with the SBA 9113, it is suitable for measurements from 0.5 GHz to 18 GHz and offers excellent antenna properties in the upper frequency spectrum. The antenna can be used from as low as 1 GHz, with only slight limitations in symmetry, VSWR and antenna factor.
General features
The SBA 9112 is a precise tool for high-frequency measurement technology, particularly for evaluating measurement sites and for broadband field strength measurements. Its dipole-like omnidirectional behavior, stable phase center and high load capacity make it the ideal alternative to tuned half-wave dipoles. Thanks to its very compact design, it is also ideal as a broadband near-field probe. The large usable bandwidth allows continuous swept measurements without the use of interchangeable dipole elements.
Possible applications
Typical areas of application for the SBA 9112 are:
- Qualification and evaluation of EMC measuring stations
- Frequency-selective field strength measurements
- Generation of defined field strengths (e.g. ERP or EIRP)
- Frequency-selective field strength measurements
- Generation of defined field strengths (e.g. ERP or EIRP). e.g. ERP or EIRP)
- Broadband near-field analyses due to the compact antenna dimensions
- Replacement of tuned half-wave dipoles in high-frequency applications
However, the antenna is not intended for emission measurements with very low limit values, as antennas with a lower antenna factor (e.g. horn or log.per.antennas) provide better results.
