The NI (National Instruments) myRIO‑1950 with reconfigurable I/O is used to implement various design concepts in the classroom. The device has eight analog inputs, four analog outputs, 32 digital I/O lines, LEDs, a button, an integrated accelerometer, a Xilinx FPGA and a dual-core Cortex-A9 processor from ARM. The myRIO‑1950 can be programmed with LabVIEW or C. The open design enables easy installation and integration into embedded applications that require high processing power. With its equipment, the consistent software environment and the library with learning software and tutorials, the myRIO‑1950 is a cost-optimized tool that supports teachers and students in putting technical projects into practice in just one semester.
