782361-01 | NI PCIe-8381, MXI-Express x8 2nd generation for PXI Express
The PCIe ‑ 8381 module is an MXI ‑ Express remote controller with which devices or systems can be remotely controlled via a wired PCI connection from a computer with a PCI Express slot. The remote controller PCIe ‑ 8381 establishes a connection via a PCIe ‑ x8 interface via copper or fiber optic cable to the PXIe ‑ 8380 module for remote control of the PXI system. MXI ‑ Express systems connected via fiber optic cables are particularly suitable for device control over long distances and for electrical isolation. The connection is transparent to software applications and drivers, which means that standard desktop PCs and servers can control connected devices without additional programming. Using NI remote controllers, PXI modules can be controlled as if they were PCI modules installed in the computer.
