Photovoltaic systems are gaining increasing recognition and are increasingly becoming a defining feature, particularly on the roofs of large businesses and corporations. It is important that, starting with planning and continuing through construction, maintenance, servicing, and testing, operators clearly understand how to adequately comply with legal and regulatory requirements. As the size of the system increases, so do the demands on technical equipment and structural conditions. For systems of 100 kWp and above, and especially those of 135 kWp and above, additional measures and regulations must be observed. A system certificate is also required when connecting to the medium-voltage grid. The safe use of this technology is only possible if all parties involved have up-to-date knowledge of photovoltaic (PV) systems. In this seminar, learn the fundamentals regarding the technology of PV modules and inverters, as well as what must be considered during the planning, construction, installation (VDE 0100-712), and testing of PV systems (VDE 0126-23-1). The focus here is on systems larger than 135 kW.
Course Content:
- The photovoltaic effect, silicon production, and the module
- Roof structural analysis regarding load types, load distribution, wind, and snow loads
- Fire-safe planning and installation
- Requirements of VdS 6023: PV systems on roofs with combustible building materials
- Lightning protection – from cable routing and grounding to the selection of SPDs
- Connection to the medium-voltage grid according to VDE-AR-N 4110 with System Certificate B
- Acceptance, information on testing according to VDE 0126-23-1, and commissioning including documentation, test procedures categories 1 and 2
- Operation, periodic inspections
- Maintenance and servicing – There are no maintenance-free systems!
Due to the breadth of the subject matter, some of the topics can only be touched upon during a one-day seminar and cannot be covered in depth. The content is designed with systems larger than 135 kW in mind.
