N9963B | FieldFox 9 kHz - 54 GHz Microwave Signal Analyzer

The Keysight FieldFox B series combines cable & antenna tester (CAT), vector network analyzer (VNA) and spectrum analyzer (SA) in one robust, battery-operated handheld device. The analyzers are designed for tough field use - shockproof, dust and splash-proof to MIL standard, with a large transflective display, glove-operated keypad and replaceable battery for several hours of operation. CalReady ensures immediate measurement readiness after switching on; precise ECal calibrations are optionally available. The devices are fully software-defined and can be flexibly expanded to include options such as Real-Time Spectrum Analysis (RTSA), IQ Analyzer/Streaming, Noise Figure, Pulse and EMC measurements and Over-the-Air (OTA) for LTE and 5G. Typical applications include installation, maintenance and troubleshooting in cellular, satellite, radar, 5G, broadcast, defense and RF measurement environments.

The N9963B is the top of the N996xB series within the FieldFox-B family and the highest performing portable spectrum analyzer from Keysight. With an operating frequency range of 9 kHz to 54 GHz, it covers the entire millimeter wave spectrum up to the E-band and enables high-precision measurements for state-of-the-art 5G mmWave, radar, satellite, defense, aerospace and research systems. Compared to the N9962B (up to 50 GHz), the N9963B extends the analysis capability to the upper E-band frequencies, delivering maximum bandwidth, dynamic range and sensitivity in a mobile, field-ready format. It combines the proven robustness of the FieldFox platform with laboratory precision and supports all software options - including RTSA, Noise Figure, Pulse, OTA and EMC analysis. This makes the N9963B the first choice for users who require the highest frequency coverage and maximum performance in a portable analyzer.

  • High measurement accuracy: frequency stability ±0.9 ppm (typ. ±0.5 ppm), GPS reference ±0.01 ppm; amplitude accuracy ±1.1 dB (up to 18 GHz).
  • Flexible analysis: RTSA up to 120 MHz real-time bandwidth, IQ streaming, noise figure, pulse, OTA (LTE/5G), channel and EMC measurements.
  • Dynamics & sensitivity: up to 114 dB dynamic range, noise density <-155 dBm/Hz; with preamplifier high sensitivity even with small signals.
  • Interfaces & GPS: USB & LAN, external Ref/Trigger, optional GNSS, integrated power meter (option 310), USB power sensor support.
  • Software integration: Compatible with PathWave 89600 VSA, Keysight FieldFox DataLink, Surveyor & Spectrum Management Software; SCPI-capable for remote control.
