Please note: This special item includes the 8495H-002 SMA socket option for 8495H.

The 8495H step attenuator, with a bandwidth of DC to 18 GHz, offers exceptionally good repeatability and operational reliability. The attenuation can be changed in steps of 10 dB, starting at 0 dB up to a maximum of 70 dB. 5 million switching cycles are specified and this is achieved by gold-plated spring contacts. This also achieves very good repeatability values of typically 0.01 dB.

To further increase the measurement accuracy, the data (SWR (standing wave ratio) and the attenuator values) can be traced back to NIST (UK6 option).

A maximum switching time of 20 ms significantly reduces the measurement time for automated measurement. A combination of attenuators to achieve higher attenuation is possible. Keysight (formerly Agilent's electronic measurement technology) recommends the 11716A/B/C connections with the corresponding connectors for this purpose. This can also be used to connect other step attenuators such as Keysight (formerly Agilents elektronische Messtechnik) 8494/5/6/7, with steps of 1 dB or 10 dB.
