The GPT-9500 series from GW Instek combines three safety tests in one compact device: AC dielectric strength (up to 5 kV), DC dielectric strength (up to 6 kV) and insulation resistance (up to 1 kV). Both models have an integrated 8-channel scanner and comply with international safety standards (IEC/EN/UL/CSA/GB/JIS). With a 4.3" color LCD, intuitive operating concept and an AUTO mode with tabular result display, the series offers maximum efficiency with consistent safety - ideal for quality testing, series production and laboratory applications.

The devices in the GPT-9500 series are designed for electrical safety tests on components and assemblies. Typical areas of application are:

  • High voltage and insulation testing on transformers, motors and coil assemblies
  • Multi-point testing on winding materials and complex test specimens
  • Fast channel switching via the integrated 8-channel scanner
  • Series production with automated test sequence and statistics function

The Hipot testers meet the safety requirements of IEC 61010-2-034 and offer extensive protective functions such as zero start, interlock, post-discharge and clearly visible status LEDs. All scanner channels are routed at the rear, which ensures tidy, safe working in the laboratory or rack. The interruption detection per channel ensures that faulty cabling is detected immediately.

The GPT-9513 presented here is the top model in the series and was specially developed for complex high-voltage tests on winding materials such as transformers, motors and coils. It offers three switching states per channel (H / L / X) and thus allows flexible test configurations between high-voltage and return line connections - an ideal solution for multi-point tests without manual reconnection.

Differentiation from the GPT-9503 variant:

  • Channel states: GPT-9513: H/L/X per channel - enables both high-voltage and return line switching; GPT-9503: H/X per channel - designed for simple high-voltage tests.
  • Typical use: GPT-9513 for coils, transformers and complex winding goods with multiple test paths; GPT-9503 for general components (e.g. capacitors, insulators, cables).
  • Flexibility: The GPT-9513 allows combined measurements with automatic channel switching for multi-dimensional test plans.
