Not every thermal imaging camera is suitable for exact body temperature screening, e.g. for controlling body temperature to prevent COVID-19 diseases. In order to obtain processable data, one needs sufficient thermal image resolution and measurement accuracy as well as the correct preparation and scanning method.

The thermal imaging cameras of the Flir EST models (Elevated Skin Temperature) were specially developed to record thermal radiation in the relevant temperature range as precisely as possible. The Flir EST thermal imaging cameras are used as a contactless screening tool to detect differences in skin surface temperature as well as changes in the pattern and are therefore considered to be very safe. Dual screening and an auto screening mode are offered as additional options for the EST cameras. In this way you can set up an automatic control point easily and without great effort.

The Flir EST models are available in various Flir thermal imaging camera series and have been specially optimized and calibrated for contactless detection of the skin surface temperature:

The Flir E86-EST (Art.-No .: 78522-2202) is characterized by an optimized temperature range of 15 ° C - 45 ° C, a resolution of 464 x 348 pixels and a 42 ° lens. The focus is automatic.
