The comemso BMS tester in MIDI format is a half-height, modular 19-inch rack system that is used as a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) tester for battery management systems (BMS) with up to 72 cells. It combines the highest measurement accuracy with flexible simulation and is therefore ideal for demanding development and validation processes in the automotive and industrial sectors.
The Midi BMS tester covers a wide range of applications in which medium-voltage battery systems are used. These include, among others:
- Light electric vehicles (e.g. motorcycles, urban micro EVs)
- Autonomous transportation systems (AGVs, AGVs)
- Golf carts, mini EVs and off-highway vehicles
- Industrial drive systems, e.g. for warehouse and storage vehicles. for warehouse and logistics robots
- Forklift trucks with electric drive
- Medium-power stationary energy storage solutions
In all of these applications, the BMS performs central functions such as precise cell monitoring, temperature control, protective functions (e.g. protection against overheating) and battery failure. (e.g. against overcharging or insulation faults), as well as determining the state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH) of the battery. In addition, it enables communication with vehicle or system controllers via CAN or Ethernet and ensures active or passive cell balancing.
Compared to the compact portable version, the midi BMS tester offers significantly more channels, computing power and expansion options - ideal for more complex BMS architectures with up to 72 cells. At the same time, it is more compact than the full-size cabinet systems, which are designed for tests with more than 100 to 300 cells. The MIDI system thus bridges the gap between mobility and maximum scalability - an ideal solution for laboratory, test bench and series development applications.
Technical features of the comemso BMS tester:
