The CAL73 from B&K Precision is a compact and reliable sound calibrator specially designed for the calibration of sound level meters and other sound measuring instruments. The device generates a precise sound pressure level of 94 dB or 114 dB at a frequency of 1 kHz and meets the requirements of the IEC 60942 (2003) Class 2 and ANSI S1.40-1984 standards. With its robust design and easy handling, the CAL73 is ideal for use in the laboratory as well as in the field.
The calibrator is compatible with 1 inch and 1/2 inch microphones - the latter can easily be used with the supplied adapter. The output frequency is 1,000 Hz ± 2 % and the total harmonic distortion (THD) is less than 3 %, which ensures precise and low-distortion signals. The sound pressure level is specified with an accuracy of ±0.5 dB.
The CAL73 is powered by a standard 9V battery (006P, IEC 6F22 or NEDA 1604), with an alkaline battery providing a runtime of around 40 hours. With dimensions of 113 mm x 63 mm x 44 mm and a weight of approx. 170 g (including battery), the device is handy and easy to transport. The CAL73 therefore offers a precise, simple and mobile solution for calibrating sound measurement systems.
