The RL 42-L (L = Low Current) high-voltage relay was developed on the basis of the long-established RL 42. During development, particular emphasis was placed on the lowest possible power consumption. The power consumption for the use of the low current variant is just 30% compared to conventional HV relays. This can be ensured by a lower control power with the same switching parameters. Other advantages that result from this are lower power loss and less heat with large relay matrices. The coil control works with constant current - regardless of the control voltage. The RL 42-L high-voltage relay requires only 1.7 watts.
