786307-01 | USB-8501, NI-XNET CAN interface (LS/FT) with synchronization, 2 ports

The USB-8501 is a low-speed CAN interface module for application development using the NI-XNET driver. The USB-8501 is powered by USB and does not require an external power supply. The card is particularly suitable for applications where hundreds of CAN frames and signals must be manipulated in real time and at high speed, such as bus monitoring and automation control. The device-powered NI-XNET DMA engine enables the integrated processor to transfer CAN frames and signals between interfaces and the application program without causing CPU interrupts, reducing message latency and freeing up processor time for processing complex applications. The USB-8501 offers a 3-pin COMBICON connector for triggering and synchronizing the hardware's internal time base with other devices.
