781060-01 | NI PCI-8531, CANopen interface card (1 port)
The PCI-8531 is a high-speed CANopen interface for application development with the NI Industrial Communications for DeviceNet driver. CANopen is a data transmission protocol based on the bit transmission layer of CAN, which is often used for industrial automation applications. CANopen was originally developed for machine control networks with a focus on engine control, such as handling systems, but is now used in a wide range of products and applications, including medical devices, off-road vehicles, marine electronics, public transportation and building automation.
The PCI-8531 interface can send and receive PDOs (Process Data Objects) and SDOs (Service Data Objects) according to CiA-DS 301. It has a batch SDO editor with integration of EDS files and LSS support for configuring slave nodes.
