The Cinergia B2C+ ePlus series combines the highest power density with bidirectional and fully regenerative DC technology. It enables the flow of energy in both directions - as a precisely controllable source or as an active load - and efficiently feeds excess energy back into the grid. With a power factor > 0.98 and a THDi < 3 % at nominal power, it ensures maximum energy efficiency and grid quality in demanding test environments.
Typical fields of application include battery and fuel cell tests, emulation of energy storage systems or PV sources, drive tests, charging infrastructure tests, smart grid simulations, avionics and traction systems as well as power hardware-in-the-loop (P-HiL). The modular series covers a power range from 7.5 kW to 160 kW, with a standard voltage range of 20 – 800 V DC. Up to eight units can be combined via master/slave coupling to realize voltages of up to 1,500 V or outputs in the megawatt range.
The B2C+120 is a high-performance model in the series and is optimised for high-power applications with high currents, fast control times and energy-intensive load profiles. It offers the perfect balance of power, efficiency and dynamics – ideal for battery testing, traction systems, industrial energy storage as well as P-HiL and grid simulation tasks.
The B2C+120 is in the upper power segment of the B2C+ ePlus series and offers significantly higher current reserves compared to smaller models such as the B2C+100 (±390 A) or B2C+60 (±225 A). With up to ±480 A in 1-channel mode, it enables precise and dynamic high-current tests - a decisive advantage when testing large battery stacks or power-hungry DC links.
Compared to the top model B2C+160 (160 kW, ±640 A), the B2C+120 is the ideal choice for applications that require high power but prefer a lower electrical connected load. It offers an excellent performance to energy efficiency ratio (= 92%) while remaining compact enough for industrial laboratory environments. The scalability via master/slave also allows flexible expansion to higher power levels without system changes.
