In the satellite sector, components, subsystems and entire satellites must be qualified in a thermal vacuum (TVAC) before they can be used in space.
As a result, highly accurate, reliable power measurements directly on the measurement object, ie in a TVAC chamber, are becoming increasingly important. Power sensors therefore not only have to function in a high vacuum, but also have to withstand certain temperature fluctuations. The R&S NRP33SN-V TVAC-compatible power sensor was specially developed for these requirements. All components are baked in a vacuum chamber during the manufacturing process so that outgassing is reduced to a minimum. Ventilation holes in the housing ensure pressure equalization between the interior of the measuring head and the environment.
