The Pendulum FDA-301A Signal Splitter is a highly versatile fiber optic and coaxial distribution amplifier that distributes various signal types from a central frequency standard and/or time source to multiple remote receiving points. It features a modular output design with three output module slots on the rear panel, allowing up to 18 fiber or 12 coax connections from one unit.
The FDA-301A provides a narrowband sine wave reference frequency distribution over fiber or coaxial cable with minimal jitter and is rated for reference signals between 100 kHz and 100 MHz. The default frequency is 10MHz. The sinusoidal distribution is fully analog without the use of PLLs or other types of frequency recovery circuitry that can cause jitter, among other things. The signal is filtered in a narrow-band high-Q filter that strongly suppresses noise and distortion.
The FDA-301A also offers the distribution of time synchronization signals via the pulse inputs/outputs of, for example, 1 pps and the unmodulated IRIG time code (DCLS). The pulse distribution is broadband and allows pulse input signals up to 1 MHz.
