The Keysight waveguide power sensor E8486A is compatible with the Keysight power meters EPM (E4418B / 19B, N1913A / 14A), EPM-P (E4416A / 17A) and P-Series (N1911A / 12A). and has the best standing wave ratio available on the market.
Best standing wave ratio The most important source of error when measuring power in the HF or microwave range is the mismatch between the measuring head and the signal source. To eliminate this measurement uncertainty, Keysight offers a standing wave ratio of 1.06 (> 30 dB return loss) for its measuring heads.
50 MHz calibration For easy calibration of the power sensors, they have a 50 MHz calibration input. This eliminates the measurement variance when measuring with different measuring heads and at different temperatures. The traceability of the power measurement to the NIST standard (US National Institute of Standard and Technology) for the millimeter wavelength range is also given.
High reliability The waveguide power sensors use the proven MBI diodes (Modified Barrier Integrated Diode), as they are used for all other Keysight sensors. For an exact averaging, these diodes are operated in the characteristic curve area that follows the root law.
