This 16542A test adapter can be used to determine the dielectric constants and impedances of liquids. The measuring principle is the parallel arrangement of two electrodes between which the liquid is introduced and thus the entire arrangement becomes a capacitor.

The dielectric values or the high-resistance / insulation resistance can then be measured with an LCR meter, an impedance analyzer or the high-resistance meters.
