The Cinergia GE+ vAC/DC series comprises 13 models from 7.5 kW to 160 kW and offers "Same Power in AC and DC". Each device can freely specify grid characteristics such as voltage, frequency, phase angle and (inter)harmonics up to the 50th order per phase; THDi on the grid side < 3 % at cos φ > 0.98 ensures a clean feed-in. The 30 kHz control loop and extensive interference profiles (including IEC 61000-4-11/-13/-14/-28, LVRT, SEMI-F47) enable reproducible tests. Applications range from electromobility & charging infrastructure to energy storage, PV/PV emulation, smart grids and power HiL.

  • Generation of global grids: 3-phase/1-phase/split-phase, independent phase parameters incl. harmonics & ramps.
  • Disturbance & standard tests: Dips, flicker, frequency jumps, (inter-)harmonics; editor & ready-made IEC profiles (pre-compliance).
  • DC multichannel: Up to three independent bidirectional DC channels (common ground), CV/CC/CP/CR modes, battery test/emulation & PV emulation optional.
  • Regenerative & parallelizable: regenerative for energy recovery; master/slave via LWL for power/voltage increase.
  • Operation & integration: 4.3″ touch, open Modbus TCP interface (LAN), analog/digital I/Os, data acquisition.

Variant in focus: GE+ 10 vAC/DC

The GE+ 10 vAC/DC model extends the series to 10 kW power with identical performance in AC and DC. It is ideal for research, development and laboratory testing where a slightly higher power and current level is required than the 7.5 kW model. In AC, the device delivers up to 15 A (3-channel) or 45 A (1-channel in parallel operation). In DC mode, ±15 A (3-channel) and ±45 A (1-channel) are available. This makes the GE+ 10 vAC/DC ideal for mains simulations, inverter tests, battery and charger tests or power HiL applications. With a compact housing measuring approx. 770 × 450 × 1100 mm and weighing around 170 kg, the device remains mobile and space-saving for use in the laboratory or on the test bench.

Comparison with the other models in the series

  • Power/scaling: At 10 kW, the model offers more reserves than the GE+ 7.5 vAC/DC, but remains compact and flexible. Higher models up to 160 kW are designed for high-current and system tests, but - like the GE+ 10 - can be combined using the master/slave function.
  • Currents: The 10 kW version provides 15/45 A (AC) or ±15/±45 A (DC) and therefore offers 36% more current capacity than the entry-level model - ideal for more power-hungry test setups.
  • Design: The height remains identical to the smaller models, making the GE+ 10 vAC/DC easy to integrate into mobile laboratory racks or compact test benches.
  • Functionality: All software functions, test profiles and standard tests are fully included. Battery emulation, PV emulation and DC multichannel are also optionally available for this model.

  • DC output: CV (20...750 V; option up to 800 V), CC (0...± 110 % Irated), CP (0...± 200 % Prated), CR (0.1...1000 Ω); rise times typ. 1-2.5 ms.
  • Overload capacity: AC up to 200 % (2 s), 150 % (1 min), 125 % (10 min); DC up to 110 % (1 min).
  • Control & dynamics: 30 kHz control loop; small signal bandwidth up to 5 kHz (AC).
  • Efficiency (mains side): ≥ 89 % (7.5/10 kW), ≥ 91 % (15-30 kW), ≥ 92 % (40-160 kW).
  • Interface & Software: 4.3″ touch, open Modbus TCP interface (LAN), isolated analog/digital I/Os, PC GUI, sequencer/steps editor, data logging.
