PW9253A | PathWave Advanced Battery Test and Emulation

The PW9253A PathWave Advanced Battery Test and Emulation software from Keysight Technologies is a powerful application for performing realistic battery testing, creating accurate battery models and emulating battery conditions using advanced two-quadrant power supplies.

Main features:

  • Test and emulate batteries up to 200 kW and 2000 V
  • Four operating modes: Emulation, Profiler, Discharge/Charge, Cycler
  • Create custom battery models including SoC, Voc, Ri
  • Create custom battery models. SoC, Voc, Ri
  • Import of external battery models (CSV with Voc, SoC, Ri)
  • Emulation of different battery states at different temperatures
  • Simultaneous measurement of voltage, current, capacity and temperature
  • Lifetime cycle tests with up to 1000 charge/discharge cycles
  • Protection functions such as temperature monitoring and charge cut-off (e.g. for NDV for NiMH and NiCad batteries). with NDV for NiMH/NiCd)

Profiler: Creation of individual battery models

The profiler function enables the creation of precise battery models using real charging or discharging processes. The model contains up to 200 points with information on open circuit voltage (Voc), series resistance (Ri) and state of charge (SoC).

Emulation: Real conditions without a real battery

By loading a battery model, PW9253A emulates the behavior of a real battery in real time. This allows safe, repeatable and controlled test scenarios - including dynamic load profiles.

Cycler: Life and reliability tests

Perform up to 1000 charge/discharge cycles and monitor capacity loss, voltage, current and time. Cutoff conditions automatically terminate the cycle at defined thresholds.
